A little paint goes a long way.

We purchased a beach bungalow in January 2013 and have spent the past year making it our own, little by little. This past weekend was especially exciting as I've been wanting to paint our Great Room for a long time now, but never settled on a color. It's been a flat taupe-ish/swiss coffee/brown-shade since we bought the house so I knew any color change would make a massive difference. I recently chose the color Sherwin Williams "Silverplate" for a client's office and once I saw her walls come to life, I immediately knew it was the color I was also looking for. It's bright, really fresh looking and livened the space while giving it a modern flair. Enjoy my downtown frowny brown color makeover below!

I've warmed the interiors up a bit since taking the before photo. I made sure to add more foliage and greenery to each room in our house to balance out the modern vibe with some added cozy. I'm also addicted to beautiful rugs, so I slapped a few runners side by side under the dining table to boot. Now ain't that crazy!
