Palm Springs Mid-Century Tour

We headed out early this past weekend for some hiking in Joshua Tree, California. On Sunday, we took a day trip to Palm Springs so I could geek out on all the Mid-Century historical homes. The sun was shining, it was a warm 80 degrees and I took the time to capture a few beautiful homes that just blew my mind. I hope you enjoy my photos!

All of the photos above are famous Wexler Steel Houses built in 1961. Donald Wexler was the first person to combine upscale modernist ideal with prefabricated construction techniques. These homes could be built in TWO days and sold for approximately $14k. They're in the millions now.

These two homes scream Hollywood Glam to me. The landscaping is minimal and the color palettes are very simple yet stunning.

I'd be just fine driving up to this house every day. No problem.

I posted a photo of this home on my Instagram. It was one of my favorites because of the contrast in colors and that BLUE entrance!

The polygonal glass home on the right was built in the 60's. Elvis and Priscilla leased the estate for one year and wanted to get hitched here until the media blew their cover. There were so many cars pulling up to get a glimpse of this house, it was hard to capture a beautiful photo!

We have plans to return and check out the museums and do some more home tours in the near future. What a beautiful, eccentric place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
